The model studies the end of your clip: the subject, the setting, the lighting, the camera position and the direction of motion. It then generates new frames that continue from there, guided by your prompt. RegiAI joins the new part to your original, so you get one continuous video instead of two files to line up.

Good prompts describe the next beat, not the whole scene again:

• "The camera pulls back to reveal the whole city at night."
• "She turns around and walks toward the camera."
• "The wave breaks and foam rolls up the sand."
• "The car drives away down the road into the sunset."

Keep the continuation believable. A natural next step of the same action works better than a sudden jump to a new place, which is a job for a new clip and a cut.

Your original clip is not changed. Only the new seconds are generated, so everything you liked about the first part stays exactly as it was.

• Input length: 2 to 8 seconds. If your clip is 10 seconds, trim it to its best 8 seconds first, ending on a frame where the action can continue.
• End on motion. A clip that ends mid-movement gives the model a clear direction. A clip that ends on a black frame or a fade gives it nothing to continue.
• One extension adds about 6 seconds. Because the input is limited to 8 seconds, extend the most important part of the scene rather than chaining many extensions.
• Sound: if the result needs fresh ambience across the whole clip, run it through Video to Audio AI.

Think about the whole shot before you extend. If you know you want a reveal at the end, generate the first clip with the camera close and moving slowly, so the extension has somewhere to go. Planning the two parts together gives smoother results than extending a clip that already feels finished.

When is extending better than generating a new clip? Extend when the shot must stay continuous, like a camera move or an action that should not be interrupted. Generate a new clip with Text to Video AI when a cut to a new angle is fine; it is cheaper and gives you a fresh shot to edit between.

A good habit is to test the prompt on a trimmed, less important clip first, or to keep the prompt close to the action already on screen. Continuations that follow the existing motion succeed more often, which saves re-runs.
