Example made with AI Clothes Changer Example · made with RegiAI

The RegiAI AI clothes changer is a virtual try-on tool: you upload a photo of a person and a photo of a real garment, and it dresses the person in that exact piece. It keeps the face, pose and background and only replaces the clothing, so you can check how a shirt, jacket or dress from an online shop would look before you buy it.

This is the tool to use when you already have a picture of the item. If you would rather describe an outfit in words, use the AI Outfit Changer. If you want to pick from ready-made dress styles like a wedding gown or saree, use the AI Dress Changer. Each try-on costs $0.05, and your first generation each day is free.

How to use AI Clothes Changer

  1. 1

    Upload the person

Use a clear, front-facing photo that shows the full upper body. Good light and arms away from the torso give the cleanest result.

  2. 2

    Upload the garment

Add a product photo of the shirt, dress, jacket or trousers, ideally laid flat or on a plain background with the whole item in view.

  3. 3

    Try it on

Click Try it on. In about five seconds you get the person wearing the garment, ready to download as a JPG.

What you can make

Check a buy before you order

Screenshot a product photo from any store and see it on yourself before you spend money or deal with a return.

Product shots for small shops

Show a garment on a model photo without booking a shoot for every color or new item.

Plan outfits for an event

Try several jackets or dresses on the same photo and compare them side by side.

Compare colors of one item

Upload the same shirt in different colors and pick the one that suits your skin tone.

Refresh a profile photo

Swap a casual top for a blazer on a photo you already like, without a new photoshoot.

Fashion content and mockups

Make try-on posts, lookbooks and styling ideas for social media from flat-lay garment photos.

Second opinions from friends

Send a try-on to friends or family and ask which one to buy, instead of a blurry changing-room selfie.

Build a capsule wardrobe

Try new pieces on the same photo to see which ones work together before you commit.

Clothes changer, outfit changer or dress changer: which one to use

RegiAI has three tools that change what someone is wearing. They look similar but take different inputs, so picking the right one saves time and credit.

  • AI Clothes Changer (this page) takes two photos: the person and a real garment. It is a true virtual try-on, so it copies the actual item, including its cut, color and print. Use it for shopping, product mockups and anything where the result must match a specific piece of clothing. $0.05 per try-on.
  • AI Outfit Changer takes one photo and a text description, such as "a navy tailored suit with a white shirt". No garment picture is needed, so it is best for brainstorming looks, costumes and styles you cannot find a photo of. $0.10 per image.
  • AI Dress Changer takes one photo and a dress style from a list (evening gown, wedding dress, saree, lehenga, qipao, kimono and more), plus an optional color. It is the quickest way to preview formal and traditional dresses. $0.10 per image.

If you want to keep your face but take someone else's whole body, pose and outfit, that is a different job for the AI Body Swap.

How to get a realistic virtual try-on

The try-on model works from what it can see, so the input photos matter more than anything else.

  • Person photo: front-facing, standing straight, upper body or full body in frame. Avoid crossed arms, bags or hands covering the chest, since the model has to guess what is underneath.
  • Garment photo: a store product image on a white or plain background works best. Flat-lay photos are fine. Avoid photos where the item is folded, half hidden or worn by a model in a complex pose.
  • Match the type: put a top on a photo where the top is visible, and a full-length dress on a photo that shows the legs. A dress cannot be drawn on a head-and-shoulders crop.
  • One garment at a time: for a full look, run the top first, then use that result as the person photo for the trousers or jacket.

Uploads can be JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB each. The result keeps the size of your original person photo. If it needs cleaning up afterwards, the AI Image Editor can fix small details, and the Background Remover gives you a cut-out for a product page.

Tip for shops: photograph new stock flat on a white sheet and use one approved model photo for all try-ons, so every product page looks consistent.

Price, daily free try-on and what you get

Each try-on costs $0.05 from your RegiAI balance. There is no subscription: you buy a credit pack ($10, $25, $50 or $100, with bonus credit on the larger packs) and pay per use. Because this tool costs $0.10 or less, every signed-in user also gets one free generation per day, which you can spend here. It does not stack or roll over to the next day.

If a try-on fails, the charge goes back to your balance automatically. Results have no RegiAI watermark and are saved under My creations in your dashboard for 30 days, where you can download or delete them at any time. You sign in with Google to use the tool.

A practical way to use the daily free try-on is for the item you are most unsure about. Then, if you want to compare several options, a $10 credit pack covers 200 try-ons, which is enough to test a whole season of shopping. Keep in mind that the AI shows how a garment looks, not how it fits: it cannot know your exact measurements or the brand's sizing, so still check the size chart before you order.

AI Clothes Changer FAQ

Still stuck? Contact us.

What is an AI clothes changer?

It is a tool that changes the clothing in a photo with AI. This one works as a virtual try-on: you give it a photo of a person and a photo of a garment, and it shows the person wearing that garment while keeping their face, pose and background.

How is this different from the AI Outfit Changer?

The clothes changer copies a real garment from a photo you upload. The AI Outfit Changer needs no garment photo; you describe the outfit in words and the AI designs it. Use this page when the result must match a specific item.

How is this different from the AI Dress Changer?

The AI Dress Changer lets you pick a dress style from a list, such as an evening gown, wedding dress or saree, and add a color. It does not use a garment photo. This page is for trying on an exact piece you have a picture of.

Can I try on clothes online from any store?

Yes, as long as you can save a clear product photo of the item. Screenshots from a shop page work if the whole garment is visible and not cut off.

What garments work best for virtual try-on?

Tops, shirts, jackets, dresses and trousers photographed flat or on a plain background give the most accurate results. Shoes, bags, jewelry and hats are not what this model is built for.

Will it keep my face, body and pose?

Yes. The try-on keeps the person, pose and background from your photo and only replaces the clothing. Hands or objects in front of the body can sometimes be changed slightly.

Can I change clothes in a photo of a group?

The tool is designed for one person per photo. For a group, crop each person out first, run the try-on, and combine the results.

How much does the AI clothes changer cost?

Each try-on costs $0.05 from your credits. There is no subscription. Your first generation each day is free, and failed try-ons are refunded automatically.

Is there a free AI clothes changer?

Every signed-in user gets one free generation per day on tools priced $0.10 or less, and this tool qualifies. After that, try-ons are $0.05 each.

Does the result have a watermark?

No. RegiAI does not add a watermark to AI results.

Where are my results saved?

In My creations in your dashboard for 30 days. You can download or delete them there at any time.

Can I use the images commercially, for example in my shop?

You can use results under our Terms of Service and the model provider's license. Only use photos of people who have agreed to it.

Does it show whether the garment will fit me?

It shows how the item looks on you, but it cannot measure your body or know a brand's sizing. Use the store's size chart for fit.

Can I try on a full outfit at once?

The tool takes one garment per try-on. For a full look, try the top first, then upload that result as the person photo and add the trousers or jacket.

Is there an app or an API?

The tool runs in any mobile or desktop browser, so no app install is needed. There is also a public API with the same prices; see Developers.
