This watermark maker adds your name, copyright line or logo to a photo in the browser. Choose one of four watermark types (text, image, text pattern or image pattern), style it, drag it into place on the live preview and download the finished image at full resolution. Your photo is not uploaded, and there is no sign up and no RegiAI branding on the result.

A visible watermark tells people who took a photo and makes it harder to reuse without credit. It pairs well with other free tools: resize images for the web before you stamp them, and compress the result afterwards. If you have a transparent logo, a clean PNG from the Background Remover makes a great image watermark.

Four kinds of watermark

Choose the watermark type from the menu at the top of the editor:

  • Text: type any text, then set the size (12 to 120 px), font (Arial, Helvetica, Times, Georgia, Verdana or Impact), color and opacity (10 to 100%). Text is drawn in bold with a thin dark outline and a soft shadow, so it stays readable on light and dark photos.
  • Image: upload a logo and set its size (50 to 500 px) and opacity. A PNG with a transparent background looks cleanest.
  • Text pattern: repeats your text across the whole photo. Adjust text size, spacing between repeats (50 to 300 px), rotation (from -45 to 45 degrees) and opacity. The default is a light, diagonal pattern at 30% opacity.
  • Image pattern: tiles your logo across the photo, with its own size, spacing, rotation and opacity controls.

Single watermarks can be dragged anywhere on the preview and resized with the handles. Patterns cover the whole image and can be dragged to shift where the tiles fall.

Everything runs in your browser. The photo you upload is drawn onto a canvas together with your watermark, and the finished image is saved from there. Nothing is sent to RegiAI, and your original file is not changed.

How to make a watermark that works

A good watermark is easy to see but does not ruin the photo. A few tips:

  • Opacity: 30 to 50% is visible without dominating. Go higher for proof images you do not want reused at all.
  • Position: a corner watermark is easy to crop off. If protection matters, place it over part of the subject, or use a pattern.
  • Color: white text with the built-in outline works on most photos. For very bright images, try a dark color instead.
  • Keep it short: a name, handle or website is easier to read than a full sentence.
  • Size for the final image: the preview is scaled to fit your screen, but the download is full resolution, so the watermark keeps the same proportion of the image it has in the preview.

The finished image downloads as a PNG named watermarked-image.png. PNG files of photos can be large, so run it through Compress Image or PNG to JPG before uploading.

For logo watermarks, a single-color version of your logo often works better than a full-color one, because it blends into more photos. Save a white and a dark version as transparent PNGs, and pick whichever contrasts with the image you are marking.

Watermarks and watermark removal

No watermark is impossible to remove. AI tools, including our own AI Watermark Remover, can clean up simple corner marks, which is exactly why a larger or repeated watermark over the subject gives better protection than a small line of text in a corner.

Use watermarks on images you own or have the rights to. The watermark remover is meant for cleaning up your own images, not for taking credit away from other creators.

If you want to hide part of a photo instead of marking it, the Blur Image tool softens a whole picture, and Crop Image removes the parts you do not want to share.

For photographers and small shops, a simple routine works well: keep your originals unmarked in a safe place, and only publish watermarked copies. Use the same text, font and position every time so your images look consistent and people start to recognize your mark.

Watermarks work best as a deterrent and as credit. Combine them with sensible sharing habits, such as posting web-sized copies rather than full-resolution originals, which you can make with the image resizer.

How do I add a watermark to a photo?

Upload your photo, choose Text or Image as the watermark type, style it, drag it into place and press Download.

Is this watermark maker free?

Yes. It is free with no sign up, and RegiAI does not add any branding of its own to your image.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The watermark is drawn in your browser and the image is saved directly from there.

Can I use my logo as a watermark?

Yes. Choose Image, upload your logo and set its size and opacity. A transparent PNG works best.

How do I make a repeating (tiled) watermark?

Choose Text Pattern or Image Pattern. The text or logo is repeated across the whole photo, with controls for size, spacing, rotation and opacity.

Which fonts can I use?

Arial, Helvetica, Times, Georgia, Verdana and Impact. Text is drawn in bold with an outline and shadow for readability.

What format is the download?

A full-resolution PNG named watermarked-image.png. Convert it with PNG to JPG if you need a smaller JPG.

Does the watermark keep its position at full resolution?

Yes. The preview is scaled to your screen, and the download scales the watermark with it so it lands in the same place.

Which image formats can I watermark?

Common formats such as JPG, PNG and GIF open in the editor. For iPhone HEIC photos, use the HEIC to JPG converter first.

Can I watermark several photos at once?

No. The editor works on one photo at a time. Use Remove Image to clear it and upload the next one.

What opacity should I use?

About 30 to 50% for everyday protection, and 60% or more for proofs you do not want reused.

Can a watermark be removed?

Simple corner watermarks can be removed with AI tools. A larger mark over the subject or a tiled pattern is much harder to remove cleanly.

Can I rotate a text watermark?

Pattern watermarks can be rotated from -45 to 45 degrees. A single text or image watermark is placed straight.

Can I use the watermark maker on my phone?

Yes. It works in mobile browsers on iPhone and Android, though a larger screen makes dragging and resizing the watermark easier.

Is there a watermark from RegiAI on the result?

No. Only the watermark you design is added to your photo.
