Upload a photo and remove its background. Drag the slider to compare before and after.
This background remover cuts the subject out of a photo automatically and gives you a transparent PNG, usually within a few seconds. Upload a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF up to 5 MB, press Remove Background and drag the slider to compare before and after. It costs nothing: no credits are used and there is no watermark on the result. You only need to sign in with Google first.
Once the background is gone, you can place the cutout on a new scene, add it to a YouTube thumbnail, or compress the PNG for your website. If the photo is small or soft, sharpen it first with the AI Image Upscaler.
Click the upload box or drag a photo onto it. JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF files up to 5 MB are accepted.
Press Remove Background. Sign in with Google if asked; the subject is cut out automatically, usually in a few seconds.

The background remover uses an AI segmentation model that finds the main subject and makes everything else transparent. It works best when the subject is clear. A few tips make a real difference:
If your file is over 5 MB, shrink it first with Resize Image or Compress Image; iPhone HEIC photos can be turned into JPG with the HEIC converter.
Product photos taken on a plain table or a sheet of paper are ideal. Shoot in soft, even light, keep the whole product in frame with a little space around it, and avoid strong shadows that the model might treat as part of the object.
Removing a background is free on RegiAI. It does not use credits, and you do not need to buy anything to download the cutout. The result has no watermark and comes back at the resolution the model returns, as a PNG with a transparent background.
You do need to sign in with Google before processing. That keeps the free tool available for real users. Signing in is free and does not start a subscription.
The finished PNG is sent straight to your browser. It is not added to your creations in the dashboard, so download it before you leave or reset the page. If you want to process another photo, press Try Again.
Behind the scenes, your photo is sent to an AI model that runs on our servers. That is why the tool needs an internet connection and takes a few seconds, unlike the free editors on RegiAI that run entirely in your browser. Large, detailed photos can take a little longer than small ones.
If processing fails, you will see a message and can simply try again. Very dark, very noisy or extremely busy photos are the most common cause of weak results; a clearer photo usually fixes it.
The background remover only removes the background. For other edits, pick the tool that matches the job:
Those AI editing tools are pay per use with credits, while this background remover stays free.
For free editing after the cutout, crop away empty transparent space around the subject, then resize it to the exact size you need. Transparent PNGs are best kept as PNG or WebP, since JPG fills transparent areas with a solid color.
If you process a lot of product images, a simple routine keeps them consistent: remove the background, crop to the same margins, resize to one standard size and compress for the web. Everything except the first step runs in your browser.
