Which AI image model should you choose?
Every model on this page has strengths. A quick guide, with the price per image:
- FLUX Schnell ($0.01): the fastest and cheapest. Good for drafts and testing prompts before using a better model.
- FLUX Dev ($0.07) and Qwen Image ($0.07): solid all-rounders for photos and illustrations.
- Nano Banana ($0.10) and FLUX 1.1 Pro ($0.10): strong prompt following and realistic results; a good default.
- Ideogram 3 Turbo ($0.08) and Recraft V3 ($0.10): the best choice when the image must contain readable text, like a poster headline.
- Seedream 4 ($0.08) and Luma Photon ($0.08): good for vivid, cinematic scenes.
- FLUX 1.1 Pro Ultra ($0.15), Ideogram 3 Quality ($0.23) and Nano Banana Pro 2K ($0.40): the premium options for extra detail and higher resolution.
A practical workflow: test your prompt on FLUX Schnell, then run the final version on the model that suits the job. If you want to edit an existing image rather than start from text, Nano Banana AI takes a reference photo.
Aspect ratio matters as much as the model. Use 1:1 for feeds and avatars, 3:4 or 9:16 for portraits, stories and reels, and 16:9 or 4:3 for banners, slides and video thumbnails. Choosing the right shape up front avoids cropping away part of the image later.
How to write a text-to-image prompt that works
Good prompts read like a short photo brief. Include:
- Subject: who or what, doing what. "An elderly fisherman mending a net".
- Setting: where and when. "On a wooden pier at dawn".
- Style: photograph, watercolor, 3D render, flat vector, anime.
- Light and camera: "soft window light", "golden hour", "close-up, shallow depth of field".
- Text, in quotes: if you need words, put them in quotes and use Ideogram or Recraft, for example a poster with "HELLO SUMMER".
Avoid stacking many unrelated ideas in one prompt. If the result is close but not right, change one thing at a time. When the image is done, you can remove its background with the Background Remover, widen it with the AI Image Expander, or bring it to life with Image to Video.
A few example prompts to start from: "a cozy Scandinavian living room with warm afternoon light, interior photography"; "portrait of an elderly fisherman with a white beard, dramatic window light"; "a tiny astronaut exploring a giant mushroom forest, whimsical 3D render"; "minimal poster with the words HELLO SUMMER in bold retro type, pastel colors". Swap the subject and keep the structure, and you will get consistent results across models.
